【摘要】:ShearmodulusisamaterialpropertyusefulincalculatingcomplianceofstructuralmaterialsintorsionprovidedtheyfollowHooke''slaw,thatis,theangleoftwistisproportionaltotheappliedtorque.Examplesoftheuseofshearmodulusareinthedesignofrotatingshaftsandhelicalcompressionsprings.Note38212;Formaterialsthatfollownonlinearelasticstress-strainbehavior,thevalueoftangentorchordshearmodulusisusefulforestimatingthechangeintorsionalstraintocorrespondingstressforaspecifiedstressorstress-range,respectively.Suchdeterminationsare,however,outsidethescopeofthisstandard.(SeeforexampleRef(1).)Theproceduralstepsandprecisionoftheapparatusandthetestspecimensshouldbeappropriatetotheshapeandthematerialtype,sincethemethodappliestoawidevarietyofmaterialsandsizes.Precisedeterminationofshearmodulusdependsonthenumerousvariablesthatmayaffectsuchdeterminations.Thesefactorsincludecharacteristicsofthespecimensuchasresidualstress,concentricity,wallthicknessinthecaseoftubes,deviationfromnominalvalue,previousstrainhistoryandspecimendimension.Testingconditionsthatinfluencetheresultsinclude:axialpositionofthespecimen,temperatureandtemperaturevariations,andmaintenanceoftheapparatus.Interpretationofdataalsoinfluencesresults.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofshearmodulusofstructuralmaterials.Thistestmethodislimitedtomaterialsinwhich,andtostressesatwhich,creepisnegligiblecomparedtothestrainproducedimmediatelyuponloading.Elasticpropertiessuchasshearmodulus,Young''smodulus,andPoisson''sratioarenotdeterminedroutinelyandaregenerallynotspecifiedinmaterialsspecifications.Precisionandbiasstatementsforthesetestmethodsarethereforenotavailable.1.2Units8212;Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
