MIL-C-15987F, MILITARY SPECIFICATION: CABLE ASSEMBLIES, POWER, ELECTRICAL (WITH GROUNDING, FOR 440-VOLT PORTABLE EQUIPMENT) (26 JUN 1972)., This specification covers electrical power cable assemblies having a Navy-type grounded plug connector connected to one end, for 440-volt, 3-phase alternating current (a.c.) circuits that require a current 20 amperes or less continuously. It also covers the requirements for connecting the other end of the cable assembly to a piece of portable electric equipment such as a drill. Grounding is accomplished by a green conductor in the cable assembly.
